The Developing on AWS course is designed to help individuals design and build secure, reliable and scalable AWS – based applications. In this course, we cover fundamental concepts and baseline programming for developing applications on AWS. We also show you how to work with AWS code libraries, SDKs, and IDE toolkits so that you can effectively develop and deploy code on the AWS platform.

This course is designed to teach you how to:
  • Set up the AWS SDK and developer credentials for Java, C#/.Net, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Use the AWS SDK to interact with AWS services and develop solutions.
  • Use Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon DynamoDB as data stores.
  • Integrate applications and data by using Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS), Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS), and Amazon Simple Workflow Service (Amazon SWF).
  • Use AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) for service authentication.
  • Use Web Identity Framework and Amazon Cognito for user authentication.
  • Use Amazon ElastiCache and Amazon CloudFront to improve application scalability.
  • Deploy applications by using AWS Elastic Beanstalk and AWS CloudFormation.

The AWS Certified Developer – Associate exam validates technical expertise in developing and maintaining applications on the AWS platform. Exam concepts you should understand for this exam include:
  • Picking the right AWS services for the application

  • Writing code that optimizes performance of AWS services used by your application Code – level application security (IAM roles, credentials, encryption, etc.)

Candidate Overview

  • In-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language
  • Understanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic architecture best practices
